Open Source Hardware

Do you guys open source your hardware design? I want to do a design for a sensor setup and I wanted to start with the Orleon hardware you had. Is that something I can get the files for to start from?

We have open sourced 3 of our hardware designs (Aludel Elixir, Ostentus, and Tikk), and are committed to open sourcing all future ones. However, we want to provide the community with a proven hardware design. The Orleon Bluetooth sensor node (sometimes jokingly referred to as an “AirTag clone”) has still not been tested aside from rudimentary assembly and test, so it has not been made open source. There is a newer board that targets the same application space, but it’s in a smaller form factor. This is also in early testing, but we hope to announce and showcase soon.

Could you share more of what you’re hoping to build and any key specs? It’s possible we have seen other OSHW designs that might be a suitable starting point.

I was thinking about having one small circular board be my controller (node) with battery, and then have another small circular board connect through either a cable or a direct connect that would be interchangeable sensor boards. Something like that, I haven’t really decided fully just thinking about the best way to do it.

Ha, you’re going to love this new design! I’ll DM you some screenshots/renders when I’m back in the office next week. Ping me if you don’t hear from me.
